Back
in the mid seventies all around Southeast England clubs found
themselves gripped by the jazz funk phenomenen. Some of these
tracks are still legendary and in some circles this is one of
them. Currently sampled heavily on Soul
Provider's, Rise this is a fine example of all that
was good about jazz funk. Mind you clocking in at over 8:30
you had to be fit to last the pace, no shuffling about in them
days, it was all jumping about and spins.
So what's it all about, a laid back rhythm track (about 123bpm)
and a typical (of it's type) vocal. Funky ass bass and neat
rhythm guitar before that horn riff kicks in. This goes into
a fierce lead guitar before it stops and starts again, unmissable,
if you can find it.
