Politicians
back Daft Punk.
In
the boring arena that is world politics, in this case
France, the candidates for the Presidential Election decided to
spice their campaigns up with Daft Punk's "One More TIme".
Cool you might say, well not really, who wants to be associated
with politicians, not us for sure and it seems not Daft Punk either.
Jacques Chirac (Jack to his friends?) and Lionel Jospin (Lenny to
his friends) both had their request to use "One More Time"
as their campaign anthems refused by Daft Punk. Lenny, nice guy
that he obviously is went away and used something else but naughty
Jack used it anyway. The band found out and demanded he stopped
using it, which he did, eventually. Could be something to do with
a potential court appearance, not helpful during an election campaign.
Anyway moral here is 1. Politicians don't mess with our tunes as
you've already messed around with the scene too much. 2. Bands,
don't get involved with politicians, think, do you really want to
be associated with that bunch of middle aged (and older) miscreants!.
