Type at The Cross live on Radio 1

Radio 1's Essential Mix has chosen Type for its live club broadcast on Saturday October 11th 2003. Both Seb Fontaine’s set and Futureshock will be recorded live for this prestigious honour, recognising Type as one of the country’s top club nights. So Type in October is certainly one not to be missed. With a line up that will knock your socks off and extra entertainment from those MTV boys – The Cuban Brothers, Saturday 11th October is a date to put in your diary.

The full line up for the night is as follows:

TYPE Room: Seb Fontaine, Futureshock, Medicine 8
Plastic Room: Savers, MYNC Project, Enzo
Tunnel Room: Cuban Brothers, Stimpy

Medicine 8, brothers Luke and Liam May, are no strangers to The Cross and have wowed the crowds on the dance floor with their unique style of music that is ‘not too serious but with a dark edge’ on many occasions. The boys have come a long way since their first release in 1995 which they put out on their own ‘Next Century records’ and now count DJs from both Jon Carter and Erick Morillo to Carl Cox amongst their fans; you know you can expect a set that will keep you dancing all night long with lots of acid-house melodies and raw bass lines!

Alongside Seb and the brothers in the main arch will also be Futureshock, whose style breaks through the progressive sounds adding an element of funk and lots of drums. Yet another set of DJs, Alex Tepper and Phil Dockerty, who have sent the Kings Cross dance floor into a state of ‘shock’ on many occasions. On the night, Futureshock’s set will be recorded live on Radio 1 as part of the Essential mix; “We're really looking forward to being back at Type, Seb always has great line ups and the Cross is a great venue to play in with it's low ceilings and archways.”
(Phil Futureshock)

And last but not least, to top the entertainment for the night off, The Cuban Brothers will play in the Tunnel Room alongside Stimpy. Mike Keats and Archie Easton are the Scottish act who play the breakdancing reprobates Miguel Mantovani and Archerio. Former residents at the infamous Manumission in Ibiza, Mike and Archie DJ in their own unique style.
