Smoove to celebrate it's 3rd Birthday at The Ministry of Sound

Launched in November 2000 Smoove broke all Ministry of Sound House music rules as it introduced an urban flava of UK Garage, R&B, and Hip Hop never seen at the club before. As well as going against all the rules, Smoove has gone against all the doubts that some may have had for the night. Three years on and Smoove is quite literally running the urban club scene; where other nights have changed their music policy, given up on UK Garage or simply seized to exist Smoove has continued to stay true to its roots and is now stronger than ever before.

Every Friday night plays witness to a regular and loyal crowd with new faces enticed every week; an R&B room that quite literally goes off the scale; a UK Garage main room representing the entire UK Garage journey from old skool and four to the floor to the underground sound that dominates the streets today; a Baby Box that encourages external promoters, new talent and alternative urban genres to get involved; a VIP room that caters for industry artists, A list celebrities and all Smoove guests and of course a fantastic new look club following

Ministry of Sound’s recent refurbishment. Also away from the Elephant & Castle venue, this year has seen Smoove release its first album STREET BEATS, a UKG compilation mixed by Slimzee and Femme Fatale as well as launching a Smoove UK Tour that will see the club night proffer its urban expertise on a number of the UK’s main cities.

THE PARTY

On FRIDAY 14th NOVEMBER Smoove will open its doors and arms to invite its adored clubbers, DJ’s, artists, performers and friends to one of the biggest club night celebrations the scene will have the pleasure of experiencing, with three rooms featuring the best of all things urban and the liveliest of party vibes.

R&B, Hip Hop & Ragga hosted by resident & MOBO winner SHORTEE BLITZ In the R&B BAR Smoove has lined up the Tip Top of Hip Hop and R&B boys.

Joining SHORTEE BLITZ Smoove’s new resident and MOBO 2003 BEST UK CLUB DJ award winner will be STEVE SUTHERLAND of GALAXY FM and subsequent MOBO fame, FIRIN SQUAD a trio of the hottest talent responsible for many of the UK’s urban compilations including recent ‘PURE DANCE HALL’ and also the MVP SQUAD the EAST WEST RECORDS MASSIVE

Let’s not forget KLARKIE, MC extraordinaire and undoubtedly one of Smoove’s preferred comrades as he has played host in the R&B Bar since Smoove’s very first opening night.

Smoove’s infamous UK GARAGE room that represents the true sound of London, where major players of the scene are invited to the decks to entice the Smoove crowd via the genres extensive range of melodies played on the extreme sound system for which the club is so renowned.

Playing on the night will be Smoove resident and UK Garage connoisseur MASTERSTEPZ, a major player in the Smoove portfolio as well as CHOICE FM’s UKG representative.

He will be joined by none other than multi award winning EZ, undoubtedly the people’s and DJ’s DJ as well as one of the most influential and pioneering members of the scene. New UKG kid on the block DJ CAMEO (Radio1Xtra) will also be making a well deserved appearance.

Last but by NO means least it’s HEARTLESS CREW, a trio that translates as a sound system as they provide MC’s MIGHTY MOE & BUSHKIN alongside DJ FONTI with sets that include the entire urban music catalogue.

Renowned for their crowd pleasing and bashment achieving performances, the UKG room’s not going to know what has hit it. Additional and exceptional vocal talent comes in the form of resident MC RANKING alongside KOFIE B.
