Hed Kandi to release
World Series Mix Cd
A year and a half after Hed Kandi's first London
residency was born, the label now host over ten residencies covering
Europe and America and to celebrate the success of their club nights
the label are launching a brand new Hed Kandi strand called WORLD
SERIES, releasing two albums a year.
Staying true to their Kandi values of featuring
full 12" mixes, HED KANDI 1 features 39 tracks across 3 CDs,
meaning you get nearly all the track instead of two minute-something
edits. There are three CD's, Beach House for sun-drenched Balearically
tested summer tracks, Disco Heaven for deep soulful US Garage together
with 21st Century Disco and Twisted Disco pitched somewhere between
darker dancefloors and try-it-you-might-like-it accessibility. The
artwork once again features the excellent eye to hand coordination
of illustrator Jason Brookes who's pin-up Kandi girl has become
synonymous with the label and has inspired a host of imitators.
There are the big anthems you would expect to
hear on Kandi's dancefloor together with upfront releases such as
Sandy Rivera's 'Dreams' and classics including Praise Cats 'Shine
On Me'. Exclusives come from Tim Deluxe with 'Battle' taken from
his recent debut album, 'Solidarity' and 'Soul System' signed to
the album this autumn during Hed Kandi's Australian Tour. As well
as the anthemic 'Superstars' by Loose Cannons due for release on
Universal Records. Hed Kandi singles label goes into overdrive here
with their forthcoming releases previewed including Beach House's
amazing 'Fade' by Solu Music, Hed Kandi DJ Stonebridge's 'Put EM
High' and Heavy Rotation's 'House Music Baby' one of the biggest
tunes from Hed Kandi's summer Ibiza season.
So after years of label leader Mark Doyle differentiating
Hed Kandi through their un-mixed compilations including Winter Chill
and Disco Kandi why has he decided to do a mix CD?
"Apart from the shameless marketing angle
of a cool Xmas Mix CD and my own dreams of furthering my DJ career,
this CD is part of a new series which reflects all the best bits
of Hed Kandi compilations throughout the year. Each of the three
CDs reflects a different style of Hed Kandi and is pretty much what
you might have heard at a Hed Kandi club night. I felt it was time
to give everyone that comes along a CD that reflected these nights.
