CRASHER RETURNS HOME

Following months of speculation about the future of Gatecrasher in Sheffield at the Republic and at Heaven in London, GC promoters have confirmed that CRASHER is back, hasn’t gone anywhere, and is returning to its spiritual home in Sheffield after a break for the refurbishment of the old Republic nightclub which will now become GATECRASHER ONE. CRASHER promoters also confirmed that they will also return to Heaven in London after a break during the summer for the Ibiza season.

GATECRASHER’S celebrated and revered trance nights “CRASHER” are back with a vengeance, roaring louder than ever before with new residencies in Sheffield and London dominating the Northern & Southern clubbing scenes.

“CRASHER” will return to the seat of its rightful throne in Sheffield again at Gatecrasher’s new home “GATECRASHER ONE” at the old Republic nightclub in Eyre Street and again when the mighty lion roars and charges south to London back to its residency at London’s ultra hedonistic playground HEAVEN!

Both residencies at GATECRASHER ONE and HEAVEN see CRASHER return to form with their unique events, high production values and hedonistic nights. Both residencies celebrate the Gatecrasher 9th Birthday with its guest of honour, the legendary DJ PAUL VAN DYK. On the 20th September at Sheffield he will be joined by MARCO V and Crasher stalwarts SCOTT BOND, MATT HARDWICK and ASHLEY CASSELLE with the TROPHY TWINS and DAVE & HUEY in the Plasma Lounge of the new venue. Tickets for the event are priced at £25.00 with a special pre bar at the new club from 8pm-10pm with the main event from 10pm -6am. CRASHER also returns to HEAVEN in London on the 26th September for the 9th Birthday celebrations with PAUL VAN DYK and ASHLEY CASELLE headlining with other guests to be announced shortly, tickets for the event are priced at £25 each from 10pm until 6am.

CRASHER Promoter Rowan said, “We are delighted to be a part of Gatecrasher’s new home Gatecrasher One which has and will always remain our spiritual home. We didn’t go anywhere, despite the speculation and the rumours, it was just that there were major plans taking place for Gatecrasher with the new club of which we are still a very important and integral part of. The venue is going to be truly amazing and much more comfortable and luxurious for clubbers with unique facilities, much better than the Republic. We are also thrilled to be back at Heaven in London which has become an institution for hedonism in club land.”

As most people will be aware Gatecrasher has gone through a metamorphosis over the last few months and “CRASHER” has emerged as the natural name of the traditional trance nights and events side of the GATECRASHER organisation.

Explaining the rationale behind this is Gatecrasher founder Simon Rain; “The Gatecrasher/Crasher fans are the reason we are here today, without their support Gatecrasher simply wouldn’t be the success story it is. We noticed as far back as eighteen months ago that clubbers tastes and desires were changing and evolving, much the same way that music and fashion changes. Trance became a massive musical phenomenon and is very much ensconced in Gatecrasher’s heritage. At the same time the club scene has evolved and changed with the advent of other musical genres and fashions. As music and event promoters we needed to respond to those changes and embrace new genres of music, cultures and scenes to constantly move forward as an organisation. As a result of this we are now launching Gatecrasher One as a club brand which will cater for all music genres and not just Trance, House or R&B. Crasher will still remain a major part of that ethos and future music events that we promote, we strongly support the scene that we were responsible for helping to create and be a part of. Even though there were changes in clubbers desires, equally there was still much enthusiasm for the trance nights on which the lion and Gatecrasher was founded. We felt it was important for Crasher fans to retain their identity and loyalty to the nights and so we thought the perfect way of distinguishing it from other Gatecrasher projects and events and to avoid confusion was to simply rename the nights CRASHER ”

CRASHER also returns to form with a mammoth event at the Plymouth Pavilions on Sunday 24th August 2003 entitled CRASHER @THE PLYMOUTH PAVILLIONS. The awe-inspiring event is headlined by CRASHER’S leading dance luminaries PAUL VAN DYK, ARMIN VAN BUUREN, FERRY CORSTEN, MATT HARDWICK and NICK RILEY. The epic show is the first ever ‘CRASHER’ to take place on the South Coast and is the first of what is hoped of many more to follow.

A further mammoth event is also planned at a large secret venue in a Birmingham location for another spectacular CRASHER event in November 2003, further details are to be released shortly
