Carl in action
Carl Kennedy is one of New York's best new DJs
following in the steps of Roger Sanchez and Erick Morillo in the
world of house music. Born in Birmingham, England in 1976, Carl
moved to New York City in the late nineties.
Carl first started playing around New York's high
profile fashion scene; playing events for the most elite in Paris
and New York including Diesel, John Paul Gaultier and Calvin Klein.
In 1998 he became the resident DJ to a small house party called
GBH, which he believed to have serious potential to revitalize the
New York dance scene. Five years later GBH now stands as New York's
most prestigious and longest running Friday night event with more
than a quarter of a million people passing through the doors. GBH
is currently housed at the cities premier nightclub CENTRO-FLY,
which has been voted America's #1 club. He has played along side
such artists as THE CHEMICAL BROS, THE CRYSTAL METHOD, ROGER SANCHEZ,
DERRICK CARTER, MIGUEL MIGS, DAVID MORALES, TONY HUMPHRIES, PETE
TONG, DARREN EMERSON, LAURENT GARNIER, DOC MARTIN and too many more
to mention.
In the past 2 years Carl has played some of the
most prestigious clubs throughout the world from the US to Europe,
Russia, Australia and the Far East where he performed with house
heavy weights: DIMITRI FROM PARIS, FRANCIOS K, GRAHAM GOLD and MR.C
among others. Carl now holds residencies at CENTRO-FLY and is the
U.S resident for Miss Moneypennys. He is also signed to do Centro-Fly's
compilation series. To support the release, Carl played July 4th,
2003 at world renowned Pacha in Ibiza with Pete Tong, David Morales,
and Todd Terry. He was interviewed on the Essential Selection live
from cafe mambo. Carl's first production "JFK" was Pete
Tong's Essential Selection in June 2003. In August, 2003 he played
