Bored in East
Anglia, no need, get yourself down to
Time. Situated at the Riverside complex this rather large impressive
club is all you'll need and will stop you wanting to travel all
over the shop to listen to some top tunes and top DJ's.
Its a large club on one floor
but with multi levels, three bars,plus a vip bar, food and all the
usual amenities. It has one top sound system, the latest lights
hanging from the ceiling and a nice big green lazer to boot. Decor
wise, its not what you would normally expect, especially from a
corporate venue, no dodgy murals lit by ultra violet, in fact its
all rather tasteful and a nice change. So what happens at night?
Highlight of the week is Saturday,
a full on no holds barred dance session with well upfront Euro House
and Trance and a touch of the filtered vocally stuff in the middle
all presented by Troy, Stu and Sprog (sorry girl, couldn't resist).
With a late opening to 3.00 am (well it is for Norwich OK!) make
sure you get there early as it is always a packed night. In fact
get yourself over to Norwegian Blue over the road for pre-club drink
and a look at the bloody large waterfall at the back of the bar.
In close second is Thursdays,
now think about this, it's Thursday, in Norwich but this is one
bangin' night. Hosted by the Gary with guest DJ's; Lisa Pinup is
a monthly resident, Yomanada is a regular and even those nice Sharp
boys turn up from time to time. Needless to say its packed and a
better Thursday night you will be hard pushed to find.
Tuesdays are student night
and the weekends start with Fridays H & G a cool house and garage
session.
So if you're in Norwich give
the quiz of the week a miss and get yourself down to Time, I guarantee
it will not dissapoint.
Footnote: This review is from
the summer of 2001 and quite a few things have changed at the club,
not least the music policy. When we get a chance we will review
the club again but if you're going there check with the club first
to see what's on.
