What do you get when you take one of clublands finest roving Club Nights, Soul Heaven and one half of Masters at Work, Little Louie Vega, a mix album made in (Soul) Heaven! Okay I know that's a bit of a statement but make no mistake this is the absolute nuts.

Subtitled London_Ibiza this reflects exactly what the album is all about, London funky house cool and Ibiza latin summer rhythms. Mix in some some top tunes and brilliant mixing and you have one top album.

Highlights include classics 'I can't get no sleep', Kenlou's 'What a Sensation' Donna Summer's 'I Feel Love' and Chicago Street Player. Add in such recent biggies as Junior Jack, Hardsoul and Harry Ramero plus some summer rhythms from DJ Gregory and Louis Vega himself and you've got it all and with the cold nights now with us this will warm you up.

The quality of Hed Kandi albums has never been in doubt with such gems as Disco Kandi and Beach House but this is a new direction, a mix album. This, the first in a series of what is intended to be two albums a year, is a bit of a gem. What separates it from some other mix albums are the amount of tracks, none of your 2 minutes before the next track kicks in here you get it all, the full monty, the full length versions. This does mean less tracks than say an annual but higher quality.

Spread over 3 cd's you have the Beach mix, The Disco Heaven mix and the Twisted Disco mix, all self explantory really. The mixing is excellent and although we guess the engineers have done a bit of noodling on the whole it sounds "live" a refreshing change from them compilaltions that are obviously fed into a computer and mixed by digital trickery ending up sounding a little souless

Musically you'll find some gems on this, a lot you will know already as they've been rather large such as Junior Jack , Hardsoul, Lee Cabrera, Praise Cats, Eric Morillo and David Guetta. Thrown in for good measure are some exclusives, Time Deluxe's Battle and Soul Systems Real Love and upfront releases such as Sandy Rivera's Dreams.

A fine start to the series and a recommended purchase, out on 24th November 2003.
